MiraCosta College: AMEMSA Heritage Month
Thursday April 11th, MiraCosta College is screening Soufra in part of their Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim and South Asian History and Heritage Month (AMEMSA).
With a large population of immigrants and refugees, MicaCosta College is striving to highlight shared stories and create the opportunity for increased understanding and acceptance of these communities.
The event is open to the public, presenting an opportunity for professional development for the MiraCosta faculty in addition to a learning opportunity for their students and the North San Diego County community. The film will be paired with food (appetizers) provided by, local and family owned, San Marcos Market. A discussion and Q&A will follow the screening.
As a free event, MiraCosta welcomes all donations in support of the Azizi Refugee Scholarship fund. A scholarship that seeks to honor refugees, asylees, and other displaced peoples and their experience – providing much-needed financial support in their educational pursuits.
