Alfanar London Screening: The May Fair

Tuesday, January 29 2019 07:00PM - 09:30PM

Alfanar and WPA/Soufra

Since 2013, Alfanar -- the Arab world's first Venture Philanthropy organisation -- has backed the intrepid social entrepreneur Mariam Al Shaar and the ladies of the Women's Programs Association in Lebanon's Burj el Barajneh refugee camp to launch the first foodtruck wholly owned and run by women refugees in Lebanon.

Mariam's is a story compelling enough that Susan Sarandon executive produced, and Thomas Morgan directed a documentary film by the name of the truck -- SOUFRA -- to tell it.

SOUFRA -- meaning feast in Arabic -- is a story of hope, self-reliance, and the power social investment can have when it is coupled with the determination of a woman to change the world around her.

Buy a Ticket, Change a Life

It takes Alfanar £38 -- the suggested donation for one seat -- to impact the life of one individual over a year, meaning that you can help us to transform more lives while enjoying this incredible story.

Join us on 29th January and support Alfanar to create long-term, sustainable impact in vulnerable communities across the region through investment in social enterprises.
